It is crazy how quickly times passes. In a flash, days, months, and years go by without truly reflecting on how that time shapes us. Relationships created. Memories made. Laughs shared. Tears shed. Conversations enjoyed.
When I applied at the Firehouse Brewing Company in July 2006, I was looking for a Rally serving job where I could make some quick money. Having just moved home from the East Coast, I desperately needed to replenish my bank account.
The choice to walk through those doors, and of course to be hired, gave me much more than a way to fill my finances. It gave me a family. It gave me a home. It impacted my life in a way I can never adequately put into words. It is why I am here nearly two decades later.
The Firehouse and its people will always hold a special place in my heart. It is where I met my husband and where my kids grew up. It is where Ethan got his nickname Rex, six-year-old Hannah educated patrons on the difference between oaked and unoaked chardonnay, and little Eve dazzled winery guests as the honorary concierge. It is where I made lifelong friendships. So many memories to count.
To the owners, my coworkers, mentors, friends, and guests – thank you for the laughter, stories, and the endless memories. You have all made these past 18 years unforgettable, and I am grateful to all of you. I look forward to seeing you all on the other side of the bar.
Until we meet again,
Meesh
