Brianna La Crescent
Though many birds are a detriment to vineyards, the Nighthawk coexists quite peacefully with the grapes at Old Folsom Vineyard. These feathered friends do not build nests. Instead, they lay their highly-camouflaged eggs directly on the ground between the rows of our Brianna and La Crescent vines. The mother birds spend their days protecting these eggs from those working the vineyard. At dusk and dawn, Nighthawks hunt for insects in the skies that overlook the grapes that will soon become Firehouse Wine Cellars wines.
